Poway

Poway, located in San Diego County, California, is a city known for its rural influence, as reflected in its motto “The City in the Country”. Positioned north of San Diego and south of Escondido, Poway is surrounded by neighboring communities including Rancho Bernardo, Sabre Springs, Scripps Ranch, Rancho Peñasquitos and Ramona to the east. Notably,in the late 198s,the development of the 700-acre Poway Business Park began in the southern area of the city. Today,it houses over 500 businesses and sustains more than 18,000 jobs. Moreover,a few trees in Poway have been recognized as Heritage Trees by the City Council – these are trees on public property or public right-of-way with historic or cultural significance. The first Heritage Tree designated was the Poway Oak. Poway’s unique blend of rural charm alongside a thriving business community while also emphasizing its rich natural heritage.
