Solana Beach
Solana Beach, located along the northern coast of San Diego County, has a rich history as a former farming community perched on bluffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Today, it’s a vibrant neighborhood with suburban living and urban amenities in downtown areas like Cedros Avenue and Historic Highway 101.
A popular event in Solana Beach is Fiesta Del Sol, a two-day festival with activities for children, food vendors, and performances from local entertainers. The festival also hosts the Battle of the Bands competition and features interactive games and rides.
Solana Beach is well-connected by public transportation and is served by Amtrak’s Pacific Surfliner and Coaster commuter rail at Solana Beach Transit Center. Interstate 5 is a major freeway bisecting the community. Surrounding Solana Beach is the Pacific Ocean to the west; Cardiff-by-the-Sea to the north, and Del Mar to the south. The unincorporated village of Rancho Santa Fe is located on the east side. The neighborhood of La Colonia de Eden Gardens is one of the oldest residential areas of Solana Beach. The community was formed in the 1920s by Mexican farmers who were hired by the owners of large ranches in adjacent Rancho Santa Fe.
